As firm's clientele goes global, so does its staff

Compressor Controls Corporation's 220 Iowa employees come from 25 countries and have a wide range of economic, political and social backgrounds. The Urbandale company makes control systems for industrial machinery and needs experts in engineering, drafting and other fields.
HOW IT WORKS
The company values different views and provides clear goals and objectives to its employees to reduce ambiguity, said Julie Sorci, vice president of human resources.
Programs for employees include tuition reimbursement, assistance with workers' visas and green cards, and paid-for English as a Second Language courses, which are held at the workplace twice a week.
Company-sponsored employee events include an International Food Festival, a World Cup soccer party, a "friends and family" picnic and golf outing, and recreational sports teams.

ISO-9001 Certification Renewed for the 4th Consecutive Term

Compressor Controls Corporation reinforced its commitment to quality and value to customers by being recertified once again for ISO-9001. After a thorough two-day audit by DNV, CCC was recommended for recertification for a fourth three-year period, with no findings in the audit.

Since its first Certification in 1994, CCC has matured as an international company focusing on an effective Quality Management System that is instrumental in delivering world-class turbo machinery control solutions and value to customers. Over the past 12 years, through the transformation to ISO-9001: 2000 in 2003, and to its current recertification, CCC employees have demonstrated utmost discipline in following the Quality Management System in all aspects of operations, from procurement to manufacturing to product testing to field services.

International Food Tasting Event at CCC (IFT2006)

Compressor Controls Corporation (CCC) is known all over the world as a leader in the design and engineering of turbomachinery control systems. The lesser-known fact is that CCC has a unique standing among other Iowa businesses.
In the world headquarters in Des Moines and 10 other offices worldwide CCC employs control systems specialists from over 30 countries besides the USA, including Canada and Russia, China and Poland, the Czech Republic and Nepal, Egypt and Ukraine, Latvia and Argentina, India and Hungary, Pakistan and Vietnam, the Netherlands and Kuwait, Italy and Malaysia, the Philippines and Great Britain, Israel and Brazil, Singapore and Albania, France and Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Belarus…
The working relations and personal friendship enjoyed by the CCC people over the years led to an unusual event. For few hours CCC lobby and lunchroom have been transformed into a flavorful and colorful food fair. Over 60 magnificent original ethnic dishes prepared by CCC employees were on display, ready to please and, in many cases, amaze the adventurous palates of employees and invited guests.
The delightful fusion of aromas penetrated the serving area and the dining room, with white clothed tables and fresh flowers. Real steaming Ukrainian borscht… Scrumptious Danish meatballs in creamy dill souse… Fiery Cajun shrimp… Greek Shrimp Orzo salad … Towering Russian blini… Rich and fulfilling Polish bigos… Asian satay chicken… Iowa venison chili… Philippine eggrolls… Hungarian Goulash… African Banana Bread … Pakistani pizza…
There were three cooking stations set up for demonstrating various ethnic food preparation techniques. To add a final touch to the event, many employees choose to wear the attire of the nations they represented.
A new tradition is born at CCC.
