Integrated Engineering, Configuration and Operation

CCC industry-leading proprietary turbomachinery control algorithms are implemented in the powerful software packages for the following applications:

  • Single- and multi-shaft gas turbine fuel control
  • Steam turbine speed, extraction and valve management control
  • Compressor antisurge, performance, load sharing, antichoke, and quench control
  • Electrical generator load control

These algorithms incorporate the best possible combination of standard and CCC-developed control techniques, such as our approach to calculating a compressor’s proximity to surge, innovative combination of open-and close loop control, efficient load sharing for compressor working in series and/or in parallel, and turbine overspeed avoidance.

CCC has created powerful software that overcomes the limitations of traditional operator interface programs.  It allows customers to monitor and operate our control systems with easy-to-use graphical displays and convenient point-and-click navigation.

Users can configure and operate the controllers, as well as monitor the performance of the control system, turbomachinery and application via client-specific Operator Interface Stations - PC-based devices that run a variety of CCC-developed software packages, using multitasking client-server technology.  These software packages deliver real-time operating date, real-time operating maps for compressors and turbines, on-screen trender (parameters monitoring and plotting,) online and offline controller configuration, online help screens and critical event archiving.

TrainTools® software package features a high degree of Integration between project engineering, system configuration, and operation. One of the main ideas behind TrainTools is to enable engineers to simultaneously design, produce documentation, and
configure the control system without detailed knowledge of PLC programming. Engineers enter project information only once. TrainTools then uses this information to generate desired documentation (such as an I/O listing) and automatically creates and configures required elements of the control system, including the operator interface.

Powerful Engineering Programs

All TrainTools components collectively provide an integrated set of process control system human-machine interface (HMI) and project engineering programs that run under the Win XP Pro or Win 2000 Pro operating system. The TrainTools programs have been separated into eight software packages:

  • Platform Communication Server
    provides OPC online data access (OPC/DA) to the HMI variables of CCC Controllers and third-party Modbus slaves, and forward alarm and event (AE) messages posted by or synthesized for those controllers;
  • Archive Server
    records specified data from the platform communication servers and share it with Archive Server;
  • TrainView
    provides a graphical user interface (GUI) for current and archived AE and OPC/DA data;
  • Archival Data Utilities
    provide ways to extract archived AE and OPC data to files and formal reports;
  • Platform Engineering Utilities
    provide programs for configuring and tuning a specific series of CCC controllers via the corresponding OPC Server;
  • Project Engineering Utilities
    create and modify the project database, are also used to develop the application software for Series 5 Controllers;
  • TrainView Web
    allows TrainTools and OPC/DA clients and servers to communicate using standard Internet protocols; also provides an Internet Explorer software plug-in which allows TrainView operator interface projects to be viewed as Internet Explorer web pages, using data obtained via the Web Communication Services.
  • Series 5 Emulator
    allows a single PC to execute the application software of up to sixteen Series 5 Controllers for testing and training purposes.
